YAEDA SL was invited by The National Association for social workers Sierra Leone in celebrating the International youth day (12th August) on the theme: “Inner peace is a solution to youth productivity and social Friendly environment”

In a drive to promote the relatively new social work profession, YAEDA SL partnered with Social Workers Sierra Leone, student societies from Social work department Fourahbay College, University of Sierra Leone and Milton Margai School of Science and Technology in organising a national march and undertook a nationwide non-violence campaign before during and post elections. This march took place on 20th March 2018 (social workday) attracting a huge participation and media coverage across the country. In attendance were students, heads of department, academicians, media practitioners, government officials, and NGOs. The essence of this march is to create awareness geared towards building public confidence, trust, prestige, and professionalism within the profession. Prior to this, a nationwide non-violence campaign was organised across the capital Freetown during which students interacted with the general public advocating for non-violence before, during and after elections.
